Cotton prices decreased due to non-export to China

Actually, due to Corona, India has banned exports from China. Large quantities of cotton are sent to China. According to media reports, China is one of the major exporters of cotton to India. Now the crisis facing the farmers is that the farmers are not able to send the produced cotton to China. Consumption is also not happening in the country. In such a situation, the remaining cotton has to be sold at cheap prices. Cotton price has seen a decrease of Rs 2000 in the last 15 days

7500 quintal cotton in Aurangabad

Farmers used to get good prices in Aurangabad Mandi in Maharashtra. Farmers’ cotton was being sold at Rs 9500 to 10000 per quintal. Now the price of cotton has remained only up to Rs.7500 per quintal. A drop of Rs 2 to 2.5 thousand has been registered in the prices. Experts say that if the situation remains the same then there may be a further decline in the prices of cotton in the coming days.

The cost of farmers does not come out on MSP

The MSP of cotton has been fixed at Rs 6380 for the year 2022-23 from the government level. Farmers say that the MSP has been fixed from the level of the government. Even the cost of cotton is not recovered properly in it. The central government should increase the MSP of cotton. The farmer spends a lot of freight to bring the cotton to the market. At the same time, the farmer himself also works hard day and night. Pesticides, fertilizers and others are used in it. According to this, the cultivation of cotton has become a loss deal for the farmers.
